In 2008 we started to realize that there was no good source on the internet for learning about the best paraphernalia to consume Cannabis with. Sure, there were forums with thousands of members that could provide all the information needed but there was a serious lack of an easy to navigate website that allowed for users to quickly look-up a product to see details and reviews on it. As an employee at a smoking accessories shop, this was greatly frustrating to greenIrie because one of the most common questions asked by customers was what the best rolling papers were. And it was from this problem that the concept of Cannabisseur was born.

As the idea of a paraphernalia website was bounced around among friends it became clear that there was even more of an internet void than we had originally thought. Not only was there no good resource for finding out about your favorite blunt wrap or water pipe, but there was also no good resource to find out about your favorite strains! Sure there were some sites, a few with tons of information, but none of them were easy to navigate or nice to look at.

We quickly realized that, although there were other formats we could use for such a website, a wiki would be best because it could allow for all the Cannabis enthusiasts across the internet to help develop as complete a Cannabis encyclopedia as possible. Furthermore, the Cannabis industry is expanding so quickly that it would be too difficult for a small team to keep such an extensive website up to date in their free time.
Work started on Cannabisseur in late 2008 and is still underway.
